Minneapolis (July 20, 2016) – Minnesota’s first Polo en Blanc event will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 5:30 – 11 p.m. at the Twin Cities Polo Club, Maple Plain, Minnesota.

Hundreds of people will don white attire, enjoy a gourmet dinner at pristine, white linen-covered tables as they watch the first Midwest women’s polo qualifier and additional polo matches. The evening will include fun, whimsical attractions: live music by Patty Peterson, fire dancers, a white car show, a white hat competition, an exotic white fashion show and more.

The French inspired theme of this event, Polo en Blanc, is fitting for its non-profit partner, Depart Smart.

Event proceeds will benefit Depart Smart, which was founded by Sheryl and Allen Hill of Mound, Minnesota, after the preventable death of their 16-year-old son, Tyler, on a student trip to Japan. The Hill’s non-profit organization is dedicated to raising awareness of the need for consumer protection for the more than 25 million Americans who travel abroad annually. The statistics are astounding: 9 out of 10 international travelers do not get the recommended vaccinations, 7 in 10 do not purchase travel insurance. If there is an illness or death abroad, the expense of bringing a traveler home can run more than $50,000. For only $50, travelers can go on line to departsmart.org and register for Travel Safety Training and return home safely. Depart Smart was created to save lives. Volunteer or sponsor to advance their cause.

Tickets are $25 per person. Guests may choose to also purchase one of six dinners from CRAVE’s
on-line menu at poloenblanc.com in advance (deadline to order is Thursday, July 28).

WHEN: Thursday, August 4, 2016 5:30 – 11 p.m.
WHERE: Twin City Polo Club, 6755 Turner Road – Maple Plain, Minn.
HOW: Tickets are $25 per person (plus menu selection) available at poloenblanc.com
